My Journey
I’ve always believed in the power of connection. My early career began at Six Flags Great America, where I ran press events and worked with media, learning how strategy, storytelling, and logistics come together to create unforgettable experiences. Later, at Kellogg’s Cereal City USA, I joined the marketing launch team for the brand’s new museum, where I organized media tours, coordinated marketing shoots, and managed guest experiences. Those early roles cemented my passion for creating meaningful connections through events.
At the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau (now Choose Chicago), I spent seven years developing award-winning strategic services that empowered event organizers and association leaders to deliver successful events in Chicago. Our work extended reach, strengthened attendee engagement, and helped events achieve measurable success citywide. It was an incredible masterclass in the business events world.
Later, at PCMA (Professional Convention Management Association), I helped lead the transformation of how organizations connect and grow through digital engagement. In 2009, we launched PCMA’s first digital event, an industry incubator that provided senior-level planners the opportunity to safely explore new formats for their own events. I led PCMA’s Digital Experience Institute and revamped the Digital Event Strategist (DES) Certification, helping set the global standard for digital events and education. The certification reached professionals in more than 20 countries, and I loved every aspect of that work, from strategy and production to learning design and consulting.
In addition, I spearheaded the organization’s first ROI report, which demonstrated the power of digital events and generated more than $1 million USD in new revenue between 2010 and 2016 through expanded audiences, increased membership, product sales, and paid registrations.
In 2019, I founded Kingen Kush Solutions (KKS), a boutique consultancy that helps organizations design profitable, engaging, and inclusive digital and hybrid experiences that drive measurable results. Over the years, KKS has partnered with clients such as the American Heart Association, International Stroke Conference, American Epilepsy Society, AHIMA, NECA, Viticus Group, and many more, achieving 80%+ satisfaction scores, NPS ratings up to 96, and record-breaking attendance and revenue growth.
For nearly a decade, I have also been honored to serve as a guest lecturer for the University of Hong Kong’s graduate program through its Professor for a Day initiative, sharing insights on digital and hybrid strategy with the next generation of event professionals.
